Curriculum

Inspiring curiosity and growth through expert-guided learning.

  • The Work Cycle The uninterrupted work cycle is the heartbeat of our Montessori classrooms and the foundation of our day. Children work independently, in small groups, and one-on-one with their guide — choosing materials that match their readiness and curiosity. They explore language, mathematics, practical life, sensorial, science, history, and the arts at their own pace, building concentration, independence, and a genuine love of learning. The work cycle is protected time — we guard it carefully because deep engagement is where real growth happens.

Morning Gathering We begin each day together. Morning gathering is a time for community, connection, and spiritual grounding — opening with prayer, worship, and a brief devotional before children move into their work. It sets the tone for a day rooted in grace, curiosity, and purpose.

Closing Circle We end each day the way we began it — together. Closing circle is a time for reflection, sharing, and gratitude. Children practice listening, express what they noticed or learned, and close the day with intention.

  • Specials & Enrichment Our enrichment offerings nurture the whole child — spiritually, creatively, and physically. Alongside daily Montessori work, children engage in music, art, chapel, and other rotating specials that deepen curiosity, develop new skills, and invite self-expression. These experiences are woven into the rhythm of the day intentionally, not as add-ons, but as essential threads in a rich and balanced formation.

  • We believe children learn with their whole bodies. Our gross motor and outdoor time gives children space to move, explore, and connect with the natural world — running, climbing, building, and discovering. Nature walks and outdoor play are opportunities not just for physical development, but for wonder, stewardship, and gratitude for God's creation.

  • Mealtimes at Kairos are practical life in action. Children gather together, open their own containers, serve themselves, and share conversation — building fine motor skills, independence, and a sense of community around the table. Full-day children enjoy lunch at school, and classrooms regularly incorporate cooking projects that bring math, science, and practical life together in the most delicious way.

What's on our work shelves?

Each classroom at Kairos is prepared with intention. Child-height shelves are stocked with carefully curated Montessori materials spanning literacy, numeracy, practical life, sensorial exploration, science & geography, and social-emotional development — alongside teacher-crafted works inspired by the children themselves. The environment is never static. As children grow, their interests deepen, and the shelves evolve with them — always inviting the next discovery, always prepared for the child who is ready to take the next step.
